I'm 17 years old and i want to get a truck. In all 3 companies i like the 1990s body styles better. What i am asking is, which of these trucks have the best durability On/off road, easiest to work on in your home garage, semi-cheap to fix and upgrade (add dual exhaust and other stuff), most torque. Pretty much best bang for your buck. I know Fords are cheaper to buy than Chevy/GMC trucks. Dodge transmissions go out faster.
My dad has had all 3 companies in several different years they were made. 1990 GMC Seiara 4x4 Ext. Cab 6.5' box, 350 V8. Had 212,000 miles when he got rid of it. Transmission was shot and the 4x4 transfer case was going out. Floor shift 4x4.
1976 Dodge D100. 318 V8. 4 speed manual transmission. 2 wheel drive. Floor was replaced by stop signs due to the floor rusted out.
1999 Ford F150. 5.4L Triton V8. Automatic. Has the quick change 4x4 knob on dash. Ext. cab 8' box. Has 200k miles. Best it got was almost 19mpg towing a Fiberglass bass boat. Had to replace 3 fuel pumps. Head gasket has a leak. Pain to work on.
