I'm going on my first hike in two or so weeks time. I'm wearing a synthetic t-shirt of some sort (polypropylene or polyester; one of those) and was wondering if you were supposed to wear a singlet or something underneath? I've been told your base layer should be quite tight fitting and that cotton is a bad idea and all my singlets are cotton. So does that mean you just wear a tight fitting synthetic t-shirt?
And also, what do you wear for sleepwear? Can you just wear your normal pyjamas or the trackpants and shirt that you were wearing at the campsite or something?
