My DH has a hiatul(spelling) hernia and has acid reflux very bad. He has tried prilosec, prevacid,Zantac, and breaks out in a itchy rash. I don't understand exactly what ingredient in this stuff he is allegic to.

He is coughing a lot, coughing up phlegm, even barfing sometimes. He has trouble breathing at times and uses a epinephrene inhaler from Walmart.

Is there anything else that he could try for this?

First of all Zantac is not a PPI (it is an H2 Agonist which is a different type of medication), so he may be allergic to the dye or a binding agent of some kind in those medications but probably isn't allergic to all PPIs.

There are MANY different options but he may have to see a doctor for a prescription PPI that's less likely to cause the allergic reaction he's having.

He definitely should not be using an Epinephrine inhaler to treat his breathing issues. Epinephrine has LOTS of side effects and isn't all that effective. He really neeRAB to see a doctor to have his acid reflux and breathing issues evaluated so he can get on a better treatment plan.
