what to look for when buying a new bike?

most of new bike has less than 1 mile on it. for ducati, make sure you put the bike under sunlight and making sure all the fairings are same color.

check for scratch, then you should be set it is a new bike. dealer usually check all the oils levels before deliver to you.

Ask about what the service schedule is and how much and what this dealer will do on each service. Do some research and the price and amount done will vary greatly.

I would suggest it depends on the dealer. If you've got a reputable dealer, then a few miles on a late year demonstrator isn't a bad thing and will save you some bucks. My 08 1098 was a leftover with about 45 miles on it and I got a great deal on it. I got an even better deal on my 09 BMW K1300GT. It was a demonstrator at the dealer for about 3 months so it had some miles on it, but I got 2 grand off of it and its perfect. I also bought it when BMW was having a close-out sale on its remaining 09s, so saved another grand there! Shop wisely and you can find a good bike for a good price!

It depends, you wouldn't want to drive it out of there with just 1 mile on the bike as it would mean that the tech didn't test it at all.

around 10 seems about right.
