I got a ticket a month ago for accidentally making a wrong turn into a one way street at the city college. The office gave me a ticket and the court date was december 1st at 8:00 am. I thought that my ticket bill will come in the mail and I would not have to appear in court. Unfortunately, December 1st is next week and I'm nervous thinking about! This is my first ticket. What should I say? Guilty? Yea or No?
This is how it happened... I was dropping off my brother at the city college and was trying to find a way out. I saw the officer in his car as my brother was getting out of the car. Then I turned left into the parking lot and looked for an exit that led into the big street. I saw a stop sign and stopped there and made a right turn onto a very small driveway and then made a right turn into the big street. It was there that I saw the words painted on the ground "LEFT TURN ONLY" next to the stop sign. Right when I got into the big street, I saw the officer behind me and I made a turn and and found a place to park my car... I was not familiar with the area and I did not see or know that the driveway I turned into as a "ONE WAY" driveway.
Any help or advice? I'm really spooked out about this.
