Make mine Evan Williams. [Bardstown] 1/2 the price of all those
fancy boys-- and smoother to boot! [I've got some Blanton's
[Frankfort] that I sip on occasion-- but Makers Mark didn't do it for
me, and Jack is just a cliche.]

But personal tastes aside--- I'd sure be finding me a distillery to
tour-- and I wouldn't turn down anybody's efforts.

We Pittsburgers are more into Turkey Devonshires. The Hot Brown is a
ripoff of the Devonshire.

And the Big Mac is a take-off of the Eat 'n Park Superburger (but
those are also both Pittsburgh inventions so we overlook that one)

Tours yes, samples a definite NO. Lynchburg is in Moore county and it
is a dry county. In other words liquor may be made there but it
cannot be purchased and there are no samples of whiskey.

I named two places earlier in the thread; one in Owensboro, the other in
Henderson. They are just ones I've tried; the north-western part of KY is
where mutton is easily found - Owensboro to Henderson part of the state.

Tennessee and Arkansas. Can anyone
recommend what and where to eat. A travel brochure we have says that
"Fried chicken and barbecued mutton may be Kentucky's most famous
contribution to the culinary world".The Hot Brown is an invention of the
Brown Hotel in Louisville.
It consists of sliced turkey, bacon and other things in a cheese-
cream sauce that is then browned under a salamander. Here is
the Brown Hotel's description and recipe:

Or, stop at any Denny's in the US and ask for a SuperBird; you'll get as
good a sandwich without the hype.

The trip from St. Louis to Florida is seemingly only three miles
