I have had this happen to me. I have something called schatzki rings. They are narrowings in the esophogus that affects about 6 % of people.(Google it) Ive had to be hospitalized 2 times for getting food lodged that i could not pass of vomit up. The second time this happened I went home and went to bed thinking wen i relaxed it would go on down BAD DECISION!!! when i went to the dr the next a.m. he immediately put me in and i had to hav the food removed. He told me I VERY EASILY COULD OF ASPERATED IN MY SLEEP. I couldnt swollow my spit so i kept spitting in a cup through the night. If I had gone into a deeper sleep The spit could of gone into my lungs and i would of drowned in my sleep. So if this sounRAB like something you have please dont go to bed, go to the dr.
