What to do with an old Tungsten T?

Hi,

What are you doing with your old hanhelds? My Tungsten T was good enough for me, but now it's time is over.

What are your recommendations on its use?

I gave my TT to my wife when I upgraded to a T3.

There are also some shops that will let you trade in used PDAs. However, some of the shops won't give you a lot in return.

Another alternative is to sell it on e-bay. Maybe you can donate it and then count the donation as a tax deduction.

There are probably some on this forum who would recommend keeping as many of the working Palm OS handhelds as possible. They can be used until PalmOne releases a new model that you like.

Hope these ideas are useful.

I'm planning on trying to persuade my husband that he would really like my TT. Failing that, I shall have a go at the Luddite son who should really have one but who eschews most technology (when it suits him!)

I reckon my TT is due for retirement, it is almost 2 years old now and the battery life aint what it used to be!

You know, I miss my T|T and if it's never dropped into the puppy's water bowl, I might have bypassed the whole T|3 nonsense. (See here.)

I think that if you're willing, it's possible to refresh the battery and get it to perform like it used to. If you let it drain completely and then recharge it completely, the battery should go back to it's old performance. If not, I know it possible to completely replace the battery with one from PDAparts. Getting into the T|T is easier than it looks and you might find it to be worth your while to get a new battery. HotSync first to preserve your data, though.

Why not to leave yout T|T at home and make use of it?

E.g. my wife has always dreamt of a simple universal remote.

NoviiRemote Blaster was such a decision for her. Besides of using palm as a "device organizer" she listens to the music and watch films. Now she thinks of taking Novii Blaster on a trip - this gadget can be used on any palm.

I would recommend you to think of more interesting use of your T|T: is it already "well-equipped"?
