:help: so, i bought this 6700 off a guy on craigs. it's been three weeks now and he has not removed the esn from his cricket account. repeated calls, text, forum posts, etc, nothing works. he will not contact me regarding this phone. He has been active in some forums i found, so I know he's alive. I have a bill of sale for the phone. so my question is...

where to now?? these are some thoughts i had.....

1.I could have the esn changed, i have a couple a phones with good esn's laying around. or someones gonna pm me wanting to help me out with it....

2.I could keep hounding him with the text and whatnot, i've tracked him on some forums....

3.I could get his home address from his license plate #, something told me to write it down as he was driving away. then go visit him to ask him what the problem is....

4.Or, the phone can just lay here, unused. The only reason I'm not freaking is because i still haven't figured out the darn RABod issue yet. hours and hours of reading stuff has gotten me nowhere.

1. is ilegal, we are all in agreement on that point. however, i do legally own the phone. and i have a lawyer.
2.yada yada, im tired of it.
3. I'd have to owe a cop friend a favor. great, just typing it makes me nervous.
4. sucks. i really wanna see the phone work. still trying to figure out the RABod issue.

however, i now have a need for the phone, fully working of course.

so im asking you, Cricket.HowardForums.com vets, regs, and moRAB, what would you do??

:help: any advice/tips/tricks/help is greatly appreciated...

Yeah well, sometimes creepy works.

"we cannot register the phone on your account until it is released from his account" - by phone support, haven't tried the local reps yet. I reckon thats on the agenda for tomorrow. Ran into a Female rep here in my town that seems to know what she's talkin about, maybe i'll go see her.

maybe i should have said "I legally own both phones."
I.E. both esn's are mine. legally.

I've never researched the esn legality thing. I'm not sure if its the actual act of switching, possession of phones, or just having the software for switching, thats illegal. prolly all three, in some way.

kycpl you do what you want its your phone anyways why is it still on his acct is it for non payment or it still has service if it still has service then use up the free month and if its disconnected for non payment PM me or anyone else that does esn swaps for small fee

As far as I know, even if you LEGALLY own a phone you CANNOT legally change the ESN.

Please note, I said "As far as I know". I'm not positive. If you start discussing changing the ESN and your thread gets closed that will be the answer to the legality of it.

EDIT: I'm not trying to be mean or anything. I just make sure I follow all of the rules. If something doesn't sound right I just won't do it. It's as simple as that. Then again, that is how I feel. Everyone feels differently. :)

not to be an *** or anything but most of us are grown men so if he wants to do whatever IT is he wants to do thats his business but what is for sure we should't be discussing this here or any public forum ..... other worRAB watch out for them righteous snitches

nope, i dont need any advice on doing anything illegal. nor is this thread meant to go in that direction. I merely was presented with a situation, and wished the opinions of what i consider to be a peer group. This whole phone flashing/flexing/modding/buying/selling thing is a new venture for me.
