What to do if a game doesn't support my graphic card?

I'm talking about The Sims 2 game. I read the game info and it looks like it doesn't support my card 'cause when I go to the neighborhood it's all gray. What can I do to fix it? Is there some kind of an option in that game where I could change that? Please help me! I just got that game!
