What to by: Toyota or Volkswagen?

I'm having a hard time deciding which car to purchase. I love the look of the Volkswagen Jetta 2.5, but have never owned a VW. I trust the Toyota engine and am considering a Scion TC, or possibly a Camry.

What are your opinions on VW Jetta's vs Scion TC?
 
I never owned a toyota but i have owned a jetta before. The jetta are very reliable with great gas mileage. Mine was 00' with 120,000 miles and the only thing that happened to it was the belt came off. But it had 120,000 miles on it so what do you expect, and that was the only thing that happened to it.
