My daughter turned 13 years old yesterday and she told me she wanted to have a sleep over for some of her little girl friends. That's tonight. My girlfriend of 7 years who loves with me and has two kids of her own really doesn't mix well with kids. My plans were to have the girls show up around 6 PM tonight. Problem is this. I work from hom and don't get off until 8 PM. My girl thinks they shouldn't show up until 8 PM so I can entertain them. She doesn't want to or doesn't know how to entertain 11 - 14 year old girls. I got her to settle on 6 PM as an arrival time. She asked me this morning what time these kids will be leaving tomorrow morning. Know how little girls can be I figured they wouldn't go to bed until 2 or 3 AM and I wanted to fix them breakfast in the morning before they left so I was thinking to have the parent's pick them up around 10 or 11 AM. My girl wants them all gone by 8 AM. Why is she being so hard nosed with these kids. Three of the kids coming will be her neices. She wants their parents to be at our house no later than 8 AM to pick up their kids. How do I talk to her to let her know that that's a little too early for those kids to go home. I don't know about you but if my daughter was invited to a sleep over and the other parent's said they need to be gone by 8 AM I'd tell my daughter she wouldn't be going. That's too early, I think. What do you guys think? Is that too early or fine for you and why is my girl so dead set on not wanting to deal with kids even though she has two of her own?
Again, she doesn't want them here but now she wants them gone before the rooster crows in the morning. Loosely put. Now she's angry with me because I keep over ruling her decisions when this is my daughter's birthday. If she wants them gone by 8 AM then she's gonna have parents knocking on our door at 7 or 7:30 AM.
