What three characteristics do all successful civilizations have in common?
The key to this is not which characteristics you choose, but which examples you use to support them.
Here are the three I would choose (but if you find others easier or more interesting, change):
- Technological Superiority (e.g. Roman and British Empires, Modern America).
- Strong/Influential Leaders (Tudor and Victorian Britain, Napoleon's France, Alexander's Macedonia, Genghis Khan's Mongol Empire)
- Good Industry / Trade (Persian Empire, China (both modern and C19th), British Empire again!!! Yes, I'm sorry.)
What you need to do now:
1. Research my examples (or your own). e.g. What technological superiority did the Romans have?
2. Write an intro paragraph. e.g. There have been many successful civilizations through history (examples), but the most successful all have three things in common (they are). I am going to...(explain your essay).
3. Write a paragraph on each point. Use PEEL.
P: Make your point.
E: Explain why its important.
E: Example. Who? When? What? Consequence.
L: Link back to the question. e.g. This proves technological superiority is common in all successful civilizations.
4. Write a conclusion paragraph. e.g. In conclusion, (three things) are common in all successful civilizations, such as (examples). This is because (why are they important?).
