Know the culture, the background, the customs, the beginning of when it was created, why it was...etc. You're recruiter should give you some of this information, but doing this on your own time isnt a bad idea either. While you should know that the Drill Instructors do NOT like know it alls, it's best to have a good understanding of the Marines in order to do well on not just the physical aspects of it, but also the written and the lessons you are taught throughout boot camp.
