If these emo's have genuine problems then by all means stay there and be a friend to them. Real depression comes around for no apparent reason and can be easily misconstrued for being pathetic, when really there's an imbalance in brain chemistry or a psychological imbalance. My flatmate is depressed all the time, but it's out of nothing else but boredom. Sometimes just keeping busy can be a solution to depression. There is a school of thought that suggests that the reason more people are depressed now, compared to 50 years ago is because they don't have any real problems to worry about, they turn trivial situations into major worries just to occupy their minds.
That said, sometimes what these emo kids need is for a friend to give them a slap and tell them to stop being an attention whore. Since when did being mentally ill become cool anyways? Any idea who's to blame for this trend?
