What the heck's up with Virgin Media customer services at the mo?

I've tried to speak to a technical ''expert'' to find out one simple thing about my broadband and have been trying to get hold of them for three days at great expense to my mobile phone bill and the bastards keep cutting me off to ease the pressure of their calls, sometimes after i've waited 20 minutes!

Why are they getting so many calls recently, and has this been happening to you?

Also, is there any way I can get compensated for my wasted phonebill and time?
