What the difference in ADHD diagnosis in Military VS. Civilian Population?

I was reading a question here about someone who's 2 year old had been diagnosed with ADHD. After pondering how any doctor could come up with that diagnosis for a two year old I realized that not one parent I have known in the military for the past 7 years has ever had a child diagnosed with any behavioral disorder. It made me think - cause we live in a very close knit society where others are welcome to correct our children and discipline them verbally, and discipline is a highly rated value - does anyone think that has an affect on ADHD diagnosis at all? I'm starting a sociology class soon and I think I'll write my paper on this if I can find enough supporting evidence, or if I find out different I'll write my paper on how there is no difference in diagnosis. I'd have to get parenting behaviors from several people, both civillian and military though. It just really made me think - any one else have anything to add?
