Dividing a ten would be great. Just make sur ethe divider can not be pushed to where one can slide through..they will! Also bettas are great jumpers, so do not fill the tank to the top..I've had that happen three times now! Even with a lid, they managed to jump over the divider and get o the other male!
Make sure to have this tank set-up and cycled before putting the bettas in.

My betta fish lives in a 1.36 liter tank. i have a 10 gallon tank and im thinking of buying another betta and getting a tank divider. should i do that or something else? if not give me some suggestions

The change in your Betta's home will be great.

You should also buy a filter, and definitely safer to get a heater as well. Filters improve the quality of your Betta's life and water, and help you with cleaning, as well. If you are low on money, you can simply purchase an air pump and make your own filter! Heaters make the Betta's home less stressful, for the temperatures do not fluctuate, and reduce risk of Velvet and Ich. Definitely also get Aquarium Salt, being sure to add it slowly for it raises pH, and that will help improve the water for your Betta, and combined with a heater it will nearly eliminate risk of ich/velvet.

Do not forget to add decor such as soft plants and caves/pvc pipes. Betta love to explore and will become bored and less active if their environment is not stimulating.
