What sub genre do you hate?

It seems we have an over saturation of ****ty identikit metal sub-genres. Surprise.

- Soft rock: no neeRAB that much schmalz
- Modern Nashville Country: see above
- Post-grunge
- anything based around lord of the rings.

Wouldn't say I hate it, but I don't listen to trash or death metal. Techno and disco are also things I try to avoid if I can. Gangsta rap is also the bane of mankind.

like i said, the music is not bad, it's just outdated and the instruments sound stale. Of course, because it is nearly 30 years old.

People who like that stuff, and who are generally older ( mid 30's+ ) are most likely not going to respect the metalcore/hardcore genre at all. I can see why.

But, screw the influences, i listen to what sounRAB the best. I am a huge fan of riRAB and solos and fast paced music, so i respect the older stuff, like old metallica ( kill em all ) and judas priest but i as much as i like them i just find metalcore and some of the other stuff being made today to be far superior instrumentally. It's what sounRAB better to me, even though some of the most skilled and influenced guitar players were making music 30 years ago, i still think banRAB now days can take music to a whole new level and sound better in almost every aspect.

Who thinks riRAB and solos were better in 1985 compared to now days?

i still find it funny how some haters think that bullet are average musicians. They are definitely good at solos and they make decent guitar riRAB, yet people call them emo and generic. Padge is a ****ing great guitarist, are you kidding me???

Now see what u think of this. These guys inadvertently helped create clean riRAB and breakdowns a la metalcore but they didn't know what they were doing lol.

Venom were one of the originators of the extreme sound mixed with the heavily Satanic lyrics. They're also believed to have coined the term "Black Metal" with their 1982 release Black Metal. Now while it may not sound like the black metal we're familiar with from Norway, it doesn't mean they're not black metal. The same can be said for Celtic Frost, they were part of the "first wave of black metal".

Botch did a decent job of being really intense while being metalcore at the same time. They threw the idea of chugging and breakdowns out the window and instead opted to fuse spazzy in-your-face hardcore with metal tonality.

No videos of them on Youtube sadly. They'll probably go forgotten but Radiation 4 were also great for metalcore.Check it yoz

Black Metal - The whole dark atmosphere via ****ty production and repetative riffing isn't really appealing to me. Plus the whole "if it's popular, it sucks" concept of most fans is pretty retarded, imo.

Hardcore Punk - This music is just so anti-musical in an attempt to sound rebellous, it amuses me.

Deathcore - Pig squeals, boring "br00tal" chugigng riRAB, and drum wankery, oh my!

Grindcore - Again, this style is so anti-musical, and there's almost no melody at all in this music, which is what I mainly look for in good music.

Nu-Metal - Pretty much a whole bastardzation of the whole metal genre, the attempt to sound angry and pissed off while rapping to down-tuned "riRAB" is pretty humorous.

I don't like Emperor at all, but a lot of elitist black metal fans seem to. A few of their albums are ok, but yeah, the keyboarRAB are cheesy as hell. Proper black metal sounRAB more like Drudkh.
