I know Ganguro is pretty much dead.
Para Para/ Gyaru is dying but not "out" yet.
Goth/Sweet Lolita- dying or pretty much dead
Harajuku- getting out of style.
wow, about only two of you gave me a decent answer.

hey :)

my friend is obsessed with japanese pop culture and has got me really into Luna Sea haha

i'm no expert on japanese pop culture fashion, but i would think gothic lolita is still quite popular due to the whole heavy goth fashion thats been seen on the runway for this season

I've forgotten what you call it, but dressing up as anime/manga/cartoon characters seems to be all the rage, like naruto etc

hope this helps

xo

the more innocent you look the better.

Open a Teenbeat magazine from 5 years ago then add some crazy dyed hair and a cutesy anime character to the mix.

A style that is really popular especially in the Harajuku area is called Lolita, it's where the person dresses in outrageously lacy clothing and aims to look like a doll. There is also gothic lolita in which it's the punk version. Also one called Ganguro is a trend where girls like to tan a lot and are basically the california beach bunny only japanese.

Bape for men.

My Japanese girl friends wear basically American clothes, they wear Guess, Gucci, carry Coach purses, hey are basically like American girls. They like fancy clothes.

You're thinking solely about Tokyo fashion and not all of Japan dresses like that.

The blonde hair and the dramatic make over really isn't found too much outside of Tokyo.

Many Japanese girls have a natural style, like Rie Fu or Kumi Koda.
What you wear here, you can wear there.

The Bandages Style is getting in... It's on a few magazines; it started with the eye and now they are full body.
