I am 17 years old, and I am a very good baker, I guess it's my one notable skill. I have been told many times that what I make is good enough to sell, so I figured, why not do that? However, since I cannot legally set up an official business until I am 18, so I of course have to wait. I will be 18 next July, and I want to get as much in order as I can before then.
It won't be a trendy cupcakes kind of bakery; I was thinking old-fashioned style, like the kind of stuff your mom baked when you were a kid. I am going to get my own domain name as soon as I can, and I already have FoodSafe.
I was also thinking of taking pictures and making a catalog: one hard copy, and then put a PDF version on my website. I was also going to print business cards and advertise in the newspaper when I can, and also make a Facebook group/Twitter page. I know I also have to get health inspections, but that shouldn't be too much of a problem for me.
Are there any important steps I've missed? Or does anyone have any other advertising ideas?
I live in British Columbia by the way.
Thank you
