What Speakers to get?

i have jsut bought my first car and i really want some speakers to sit on my parcel shelf, but i'm really confused about whether i need to buy an amplifier, sub etc. do i need these, or can i just put some speakers in without this? also whats a reasonable wattage for a good, clear, but loud sound?
 
You can get some good 2way or 3way speakers to replace the factory ones, this will improve sound quality while still using your factory radio. If you replace the head unit (factory radio), you will generally have enough power to run the 2way or 3way speakers. You only need an amp if you are putting in sub woofers. Sound quality is not necessarily measured in watts, depending on the car, subs may just rattle the whole car and not sound good at all.
