So what's your alternative ? That Hamas grow in power unchanged, that they annihilate any non-Muslim person living in Israel and replace it all with an Islamic theocracy that will murder gays and converts just like Saudi Arabia ? Great step forward.

Hamas = Islamic extremism with martyrs

Israel goes for militants ONLY.
Hamas makes it a sport of bombing non-militants. Does it really matter that they have poor aim ? Is someone with a blunt knife any less of a threat than someone with a sharp one ? It's the intention that counts.
Hamas leaders say they want to "swim in the blood of Jews."
Gee, never heard anything similar from an Israeli.
The Hamas charter has three highlights:
1. Destroy the entire country of Israel (no two state)

2. Kick out / kill all non-Muslims
"The Islamic Resistance Movement believes that the land of Palestine is an Islamic Waqf consecrated for future Moslem generations until Judgement Day. It, or any part of it, should not be squandered: it, or any part of it, should not be given up. "
3. Reject anything that is not war.
"There is no solution for the Palestinian question except through Jihad. Initiatives, proposals and international conferences are all a waste of time and vain endeavors."
P.S. You're shaking with rage ? NOBODY is celebrating the death of women or children. I am angry that Israelis can't live in peace because Hamas wants nothing less than their destruction. There's a reason for the blockades and it's not to kill women and children.
