what sort of education does someone studying in gynecology/obstestrics have to go...

...through? I want to be a gynecologist when im older, and i was wondering what the education process was like, from someone with experience. If you can, id also love to know what an average day was like......
 
Well its a type of doctor so you have to go to medical school, do your junior doctor training (or what ever the equivalent in your country), and the specialize in obs and gynae. If you know obs and gynae is what you want to do then at med school try and do as many of your projects or electives etc in obs and gynae and when a junior doctor make sure to get a rotation in obs and gynae - this will help when applying to specialize.
