What size torx screwdriver for e71?

Thank you. I looked on google and everything I can find says t5. I wasted $10 on a torx kit today that had T5-10 because they don't sell the T5 by itself. I don't know if the local hardware store or home depot will have a T4.
 
I used t5 when i took apart my e71, it was the same size i used for my n95. I bought a full pet from home depot for about 7 bucks.
 
$%#@ I used a T4 screwdriver to take out the screws for to put in a new housing and now the thing is completely stripped. What the hell do I do now to change housing?
 
OK, I'm worried... I need to replace my LCD and the screen with T5 screwdriver arrived today, but the screws won't come out. It feels too big though it's hard to tell since I don't have a T4 to compare with.

I went to Home Depot and they didn't have any T4 screwdrivers. Even when I do find one, what if it doesn't work?

How come some people are having no problems with the T5 and others are? Same with the T4? Wonder if they used both screws across the entire production line...
 
I think it's more issues with design tolerances with the torx bitx. The one I got was a cheap set and the splines are likely ever so slightly different in size to allow some bits to fit better than others. Be careful with a T4 as there's a pretty good chance for you to strip the screws.

You might be onto something with the design of the torx bits. In any case, I went to The Source and picked up a set that included a T4, T5, and T6... heck, it was a set of about 40 different small screwdrivers and cost me 20 bucks, but I decided I didn't want to spend the time searching for smaller sets at lessor cost and bit the bullet.

Turned out that the T4 removed the 4 screws effortlessly. (note: the T6 removed the 2 black screws at the top)

Based on numerous posts/links that I've seen related to the proper torx screwdrivers for the Nokia E71, I recommend getting your hands on a T4, T5, and T6 and then it will vary as to which one will work best for you. It's dependent on the screws and as Gorgonesh stated it could be the design tolerances of the torx bits as well.

When you're removing the screws, it should be immediately clear that they are unscrewing. If not, then stop and use a different screwdriver else risk stripping the screws. They should rise up and unscrew right away when using the proper sized screwdriver whether that be a T4 or a T5. (T6 for the 2 black screws).
