What size tank for my two shubunkin fish?

At least 30 gallons (20 for the first fish, 10 for the next one), although 40 gallons or more will be very much appreciated by your fish, I'm sure.

Giles - You are wrong...each goldfish needs at least 20 gallons of water.

Goldfish can get up to 12" long depending on the species, some only 8" but are very messy waste producers and high ammonia rates can kill them. As goldfish can get really big, they need lots of space to swim around in to be happy and healthy.

I would suggest at least a 40 gallon aquarium.

Yikes Giles I very wrong.

The average pet store Shub is a pond fish, the next tank would be best off to be a 600 gallon plus pond. Failing that for the pair over 65-75 gallon tank. These are very large growing fish, 12" excluding fins (including fins can be over 16") and very very messy at that!

Big tanks are a must for goldies.
