What size road bike is best for my height?

Ia m ready to purchase a road bike, but I am unsure which size is best for my height. I am 5'6", so would I need a 15, 17, or 19?

Road bikes are measured in cm not inches. You go by your inseam and not the height. You want to be able to have 1 - 2 inches of clearance when standing over the top bar. The best thing to do is go to the local bike shop and get fitted. If you are looking for a used bike go to this web site.
