what size rim tape for a motorbike?

i have a Kawasaki Ninja and I would like to put some lime green rim tapes, i was wondering if anybody has tapes on their bike and what size, it has black rims, on ebay i've found a choice of either 5 or 9mm, will 5mm be too small? will 9mm draw your attention to much? i want to be able to see it but not be too in your face,
