What should the timing be set on a 1975 Dodge 318?

I own a 1975 Dodge Truck with a 318 four barrel. I took two spark plugs out and put them back in and now it back fires. I think the timing is off but I dont know where to set them. Does anybody know what the timing should be set on this engine and why it backfires when i put it in drive and hesitates when I go into 3rd gear and stalls when I come to a stop
