what should i wear to a very expensive restaurant??

it's my bday on friday and my boyfriend got a reservation to the most expensive restaurant around. there are going to be famous people, us and some regulars. it's very cold here in new york, that's what i'm having trouble with. (pics would be nice)
 
try a plain black dress, something liek this maybe

and as to the cold part, sometimes looking good doesn't mean being comfortable, but if you have something that would keep you a bit warmer and that would match your outfit just wear that
 
Wear something simple and elegant. Now this is important, when you go to the ladies room bring money to tip the attendant.
