What should I use to groom my Shiba Inu?

I have a Shiba Inu who is a year and 4 mos old. when I got her a little over a year ago, the local pet store owner recommended a slicker brush for her. This is the second time I have had her shed her undercoat, and the slicker seems to be making it worse, not really picking up much hair. should I pick up another grooming tool for her, or is this a typical issue when owning a shiba? Is this a good time to take her in for a de-shed with the groomer, or is there something I can do at home?

usually when they are dropping its best to take them to a groomer because even if you can do it yourself there is so much mess and to hard to contain all the hair coming out. in between drops i would buy an undercoat rake or use a shedding comb they are combs with Alternate small and large pins
