What should i use for saltwater fishing at the Jersey shore?

i love fishing and i want to go more often at island beach state park. i use mostly clams for bait but what else should i use?
umm i could try lures but i dont know what kind of fish are there. what other bait i should use to catch these fish?
i know i dont need a license cuz im not over 16.
