Plot:
Tally Jennings, 16 going on 17, lives in the Lower Garden District of New Orleans. We enter the story with her walking into Tulane Med Center with a broken hand during a hurricane. While there she meets 18 year old Dean Tatro, who is in for a dislocated wrist. They talk and we delve deeper into Tally's life. How her mother is a...dancer...and how she is being raised to follow in her mother's footsteps. Not only does she get to work where her mom does in 2 weeks, she's wearing her...outfit under her clothes.
Dean and Tally bond quickly as the storm strengthens, and once they are both treated, Dean offers to have Tally come to his apartment in the French Quarter during the storm. With the power out, they ride out the storm by pulling an all night-er. To stay awake, Tally decides to prove to Dean that she "knows a thing or two" when it comes to....dancing...that it's in her blood. That sparks....use your imagination.
The story ends with the next morning as the storm has passed and Dean and Tally are walking down the street back to her place.
