What should I look for in a sport motorcycle helmet?

I'm getting a 2009 Kawasaki Ninja 250r. I want a full-face helmet, but have absolutely no idea what to look for. I want to spend about $100 to $200 on one but no more. They have all kinds of types, brands, and prices. Why are some hundreds of dollars and others tens of dollars? What type of material should i get? And is there anything else I should know about? All I know I want is black or black/green tribal to match my bike. Help please?
 
i have a shoei hornet ds helmet badass looking helmet cost me about 400 bills but also dot approve on the back and fits snugly and tight how a helmet should fit. but thats me you should try and look around on the internet there all kinds of company and name brands between 100-200 and i seen some for 80 also look good but not my style this shoei hornet ds is unique jap made helmet . look around and compare prices also try comparing prices on ebay sometimes you may find the same brand model helmet on ebay but cheaper i found mine for 120 on ebay but it was used and i figured i dont need no one elses sweat so i bought a new one hey you only live once. takecare.
 
both KBC and HJC make a good quality full face helmet in the price range your looking at spending , I currently use a KBC its both a DOT and Snell approved helmet for long rides
