I'm 17 and own a car and a bike and rick them out day in and day out. Ive looked into Auto custom fab )like pimp my ride stuff) but it seems theres not much demand. i would have no problem being a mechanic for bikes or cars. I'm just lookin for a big income. thanks for any help

You might enjoy becomming an airline mechanic - and they make pretty good money.

Here's some more information from the Occupational Outlook Handbook

Search for FAA schools here: http://av-info.faa.gov/MaintenanceSchool.asp

Well here's two ideas for you:

1) Mechanical Engineering: Get a BS in ME, then apply to one of the automotive makers. You would want to get into a developmental or R&D position, perhaps working on prototype designs and testing. A Masters will help you to get where you want to go.

2) Skip the major schooling, go to a tech school and get your ASE certifications (very easy). Start your own shop, with custom fab being one of the MANY services that you offer. The custom scene very much depends on word of mouth and getting your name out there.

How about design or sustainability? These two areas are really the latest thing. The design area is broad. Do some Googleing and you will find that universities have design programs for designing almost everything from cars to furniture to spaces ...you name it.
Same for sustainability.

How about engineering also? Or engineering assistant? Or mechanical engineering. My friend went to Milwaukee School of Engineering and designs tractors for John Deere.

Also, you sound very entrepreneurial. Have you considered business? You seem like you are asking the right questions that a smart businessperson would ask. You could have a business and apply your marketing skills to bikes and/or cars. When gas goes up again people are going to start getting interested in alternate forms of transportation.......

I would suggest going to a trade school to learn how to be a mechanic as well as taking classes in business management.
