What should I eat after a workout if I have no protein shakes or bars?

peanuts or peanut butter with milk. or make your own shake with : peanut butter, vanilla ice cream, oatmeal,banana, raw eggs, put in a blender, and bam a lovely shake
 
I really don't wanna buy protein powder or anything, I much rather have regular sources of protein. The thing is I don't know what I should eat after a workout, or what would be the best way to go.
