What should I do with my Yamaha BW's this winter?

I am buying a Yamaha BWs 50cc this week right before the winter because there are lots of good deals now.
I am planning on using it for about a month then parking it the garage until there is no more snow.
I live in Quebec and it gets very cold in the winter.
I have a garage but it isn't heated.
Can I just park it in my garage even it it isn't heated?
What are the things I need to do before I leave this vehicle untouched for about 5 months?
I am getting a brand new 2009 bws 50 cc and do not want anything going wrong with it.

At least once a month, preferably no less than every other week, take it out for a 15-30 minute ride. The thing is *made* for riding on snow! Looks to be a total blast.
