What should I do with a guitar painted and signed by Ray Skolfield?

I have a old mahogany acoustic guitar with a painted picture of a woman in a red dress dancing on it, And it is signed and dated by Ray Skolfield. The date says '74 on it. The guitar is pretty beat up because my grandmother played it when she was younger, And I played it since I was 9. I am 19 now and it still works fine. I just recently found out that Ray Skolfield was a moderately prolific artist whose work is even in museums.
A part of me wants to find out about donating it to a museum, But another part wants to hold onto it because it was my grandmothers and I grew up with it. What should I do?
