I owned a car that was parked at a garage to fix, after a week or two, I came back and it was towed because the lot was a public parking place. I got caughs up with life and I finally realized that it was at a lot where they charge $30/day +$500 administrative frees for parking (scrap yard). I keep calling the yard but 1) They wouldn't tell me where it is
2) They kept telling me to call back over and over again...
I finally called now (8:30am) and they said I have to pay $1,200+ to get it out. I don't even want the car back anymore, but they scammed me, they wanted to delay it so they can get the most out of it. They finally told me to call back AGAIN when the boss is available. The boss sounds like an old grumpy dude, I want to transfer the title to them and just forget about the car, but I'm not sure if they'll go with the idea.
Can complain to the police? that they've been doing this to me? Also, the garage wasn't going to fix the car and told me I could keep it for 3 weeks at theirs until a tow truck came. But they didn't tell me it was public grounds and not they'res. Thank you, I need help ASAP cause I'm panicked.
