What should I do today.

Something outdoors, weather permitting.

Lunch/drinks on a nice patio restaurant is always a good way to do some brainstorming. Pickup a local paper while you're there and see what's happening around town.
 
Don't go for a walk, it's freezing - plus, if I know Plymouth, it'll be as windy as feckery.

What I'd do is put some work approximate to the PC and then use the internets to entertain myself until someone comes into the room.
At which point, I'd swivel my chair around whilst putting a pen in my hand, and let them revel in my conscientious attitude.

Got up onto the cliRAB and was hit with a faceful of freezing sleet. Decided it was too wet and windy to go far safely so came down and got the bus home. Now I can do other things on my list without feeling guilty for wasting time.

Once I've warmed up a bit of course.
