What Should i do to my 1971 Ford mustang 351 Mach 1 to increase its performance

and speed? I got my 71 Mach, 2 days ago and the car is beautiful the exterior is in great condition, the interior needs some touch up but im trying to keep the car as original as possible. What i really want to do is increase the speed of this car though, i was thinking headers does anyone else have any suggestion for what i should do to the engine to help this beast become beastlier!
 
1 5/8 -- 1 3/4 inch long tube headers
2 1/2 -- 3 inch pipes
free flowing air cleaner with quality filter maybe K&N or similar
upgrade the ignition system
Pertronix electronic conversion in stock distributor (will look stock)
quality plugs and wires / E3 plugs / MSD 8.5mm wires

these are basic bolt ons for performance
 
that's a 38 year old car, you should worry about safety before performance.. does it have any rust, they are a unibody and prone to rust, also make sure it will stop and corner good first.. maybe a new set of disc brakes.. and a suspension upgrade..
