...the child's behavior? A lot of my family and friends were all enjoying a day at a park yesterday. My 8 year old daughter came to me to complain about the way 2 other girls were treating her. She was almost in tears about the "bullying" and "picking" that was going on.
I normally do not like to get involved with "children's" issues so I told my daughter that she has to talk it out with the girls; explain with words what she doesn't like.
My daughter came back to me complaining again. I then told her to tell on the 2 girls mothers'. My daughter came back to me a total of 5 times, holding back tears. When I saw that the mother's were not doing anything, I called the 2 girls over to me to ask them if it was true and if they were really picking up my daughter by her arms and legs & dropped her in mud with out her approval, even if it was "just playing".
The mother's both started yelling at me that I have no right to talk to their daughter that way and then we started yelling back and forth.
The 2 bully girls (mind you are 2 and 3 years older then my daughter) started to cry (I personally think because they were about to get caught and punished).
Nothing was resolved but parents arguing at each other.
I just wanted to get my point across that if my daughter was yelling not to do something to her, they should respect her !
Now, should I call them back for talking to the girls first? or should I just wait for the mother's to call me back?
Was I wrong? if so, how do I stand up to my daughters feelings?
