...a joke b/c it isn't funny? For example, if I do something he doesn't like he might say you need a spanking for that and slap me really hard on my bottom and then pretend he's just playing but it isn't funny b/c it hurts. I think he really believes in spanking me but just trying to play it off as a joke so I won't tell his parents.

Tell him you dont like it and it hurts !!
Sounds like he gets some sort of kick out of it ??
 
Tell him that the next time he does it you will tell the police that he is assaulting you (and it IS assault) and then you will file for divorce on the grounds of domestic violence. Perhaps faced with the reality of what he's doing, might help him stop it.
