What should I do for our pre-first date?

I recently met this girl at a camp where we were both counselors. We have been keeping in touch and now I am finally driving 1.5hours (we live in diff. cities) to hang out. I'm going to be there pretty much all day to hang out and then we are going to watch the fireworks show come night time. I'm fairly certain that she is interested in me, and this is by no means an official date, but I really like her. The only problem is that I just found out that she just got out of a nearly 1.5year relationship about 2months ago, which she brought up the other night when we were talking. So I guess I was just wondering what I should do and where I should draw boundaries. I'm want to let her know that I'm interested in her, but at the same time I don't want to scare her since I'm guessing she needs some time to get over her ex. How should I bring up the fact that I'm interested and also let her know that I understand if she needs a bit more time to get over her ex?
