so I tried to grow one this year i thought i did everything right ( loosened all the dirt before and mixed in new soil from the bags watered everyday, stuff like that) and yet nothing really grew

well it grew but the pumkin plants grew flowers then died( jsut did that all summer) the watermelon grew barely then jsut stayed like that corn only grew like 4 feet high and i got about 1 inch corn tomatoes and carrots were fine(ish)

should i do anything now to prepare for next year, or what should i do next year to make it abetter?

How often did you fertilize your dirt? Have you considered plant's specific to your region and climate?

Properly aerated earth and proper watering is important to your garden, but if you're not giving your plants any vitamins, they they'll probably die. Consider where your garden is (shade path through the day, direct sun, near the rots of trees) and the types of plants that your trying to grow (annuals, perennials, shade dwelling) and their water/ location needs. Some people think you can plant anything anywhere but I can tell you've put some though into it.

I recommend using a frame, like a plywood box with chicken wire on the bottom and starting over. Fresh earth, miracle grow pearls and i multiple locations once you consider the needs of the plants that you'll be using.

Good luck! Consult the link below for further help.
