What should I do? Fix my car or trade it in?

Should I get my car fixed (It needs a new transmission) and I am buying it on time. Or should I trade it in for something that doesn't need a new transmission? The engine has already been replaced with a used engine, it runs and
I owe about half of the balance still.
Anyways, I'm buying the car from a finance company and it isn't actually my car. It didnt come with a warranty
 
my theory if you trade it in at an used car dealer you are just buying the last person's problems. if your car needs a new tranny. JUST FIX THE CAR!!!! you know whereyour car has been and you are use to driving it so whats the problem! ...used cars have more problems then a donkey in a horse race.
 
fix your car and pay it off chances are you as I see it buying a car without a warrenty is asking for more trouble you need someone who knows cars to advise you on this and not some smooth talking salesperson
