I want to do a series of video games and a tv show of it. The show and games will follow the same basic plot but be told differently with a different protagonist and often an alternate universe.
The tv show protagonist would be based off of the one from the first couple of games (his prototype), but they won't be exactly the same person and have a different story.
If I did the show after a few games with a different hero and story, would it turn fans off? If this helps, the original main character won't have a real name or personality and he'll just be controlled.
If anyone has any suggestions on how to do this, that would be much appreciated.
