Low budget: a box of mac-and-cheese mix with a can of chili stirred in after you've mixed the macaroni and the sauce. Serve with a green veggie of your choice.
Slightly higher budget: baked potato bar. Bake a couple of potatoes (start them in the microwave and finish in the oven for about the last 15 minutes,if you're hungry already) and make some toppings to go on them. Serve with a green salad.
Even higher budget: saute a couple of boneless skinless chicken breasts and, when they're almost done, add about half a jar of jam (raspberry, strawberry, or even orange marmalade) and 1/2 cup of sour cream. Stir the two together and pour over the chicken. Let the sauce thicken a little in the hot pan, then serve. Serve with a potato and a veggie.
