What should I buy - A PS3 Slim or a Zune HD along with a media-centric notebook?

My college will probably start (ill be a freshman) from next september 2010. So before it starts i need something to do or OWN. Well....I own no current gen consoles but im leaning towards the PS3 due to its blu-ray capabilities and my choice of exclusive games on the platform. Then again I only have USD 500 to spare. Buying a ps3 slim plus hdmi cable plus games and movies will cost me almost 500. While the zune will cost me 300. And if i need to buy a HDTV for my ps3 the total cost will jump to 800 bucks. What should i buy? Or should i just get an expensive notebook and a zune?
 
It depends on the type of gamer you are. If you plan on wifi and going all out and you want to play in HD. Then just get the Zune because you will need much more than 500 dollars. But if you really don't NEED to play on HD, then get the PS3.

On a different note, I recommend actually getting a IPod Touch if you decide to go the MP3 path. It's much better. I have one and it is awesome!!!
