What should an incoming freshman at arizona state university bring to campus?

-It'll be hot when you arrive and probably won't be pants weather (even at night) for a good few months, so have lots of summer clothes ready.
-Laptop. If it's still a choice, I would suggest bringing a PC instead of a Mac, as some of the software you might need doesn't always work on a Mac and some of the professors are very unsympathetic (they'll tell you to use a Computing Commons computer). Almost every inch of the campus has WiFi access
-Hiking shoes if you enjoy that type of thing. There's a lot of good parks and trails in the local area.
-A graphing calculator if you're going to need any kind of calculus class (the bookstore on campus will sell out, as well as the local Walmart and Target). Get a Texas Instruments TI-89. Half of the professors don't know how to use a Casio.
-If you like to bicycle, bring a piece of shit bike. A nice one will get stolen/abused sooner or later.
